Education
Joe graduated from Bemidji State University in 2010 with a Bachelor's degree in Social Studies Education & Political Science. He also has a Master's degree in Public Administration.
Experience
Joe has 17 years of experience working in state and local government. He worked for the Minnesota House Education Finance Committee, the Minnesota Rural Education Association, and the Minnesota Rural Broadband Coalition.
Current Beltrami County Commissioner for District 2.
Current high school civics and economics teacher at ISD 115. Former JV Speech Coach.
Former Board Member for the Bemidji Area Boys and Girls Club.
Former Member of the Greater Bemidji Area Joint Planning Commission (JPC).
Family Life
Joe and his wife Gwenia live in town near the Bemidji State University campus. They have a 3-year old cocker spaniel pup named Coya.
Fun Fact: Coya was named after Coya Knutson, the first woman elected to Congress from Minnesota in 1955.
